We I was a kid we used to watch as the congregation gathered out side the local Baptist church. Everyone of them had real bad colds and the trash bin was filled with empty 90% alcohol cough medicine bottles before they went for the fire and brimstone rant crying Amen, Amen, and a couple of hearty Hallelujahs.

P.S. That didn't include the flasks filled with white lightening. It took some powerful fortification to get through that Sunday ordeal. Just remembering back when.

They've replaced caring for people with the prosperity gospel. Where the fuck the prosperity gospel came from is beyond me. It sure wasn't any part of the Baptist church I went to.

On Edit: Because God rewards people with prosperity. So if you are poor, then you must deserve being ignored by God because your actions made you poor. Not our robber-baron, gilded age, capitalist at all costs society.

I was raised Southern Baptist. The denomination that held out the longest as pro-slavery. Catholics were not really Christians to them and Jews were these people to be converted.

Aside from that, there was some emphasis on helping out others though. They actually used the lesson about the camel and the eye of the needle where I grew up.

convincing people that if you were poor and republican, you would someday be rich. That republican laws made people rich. I remember one caller talking about his parents and how much they paid for a house. I figured he was about my age and when he mentioned the price I knew that back then it was an expensive house!! But in the 90s it didn't sound like an expensive house. He also mentioned how much his dad earned and back then it was a great deal, just not so much in the 90s. The caller I bet was a paid performer not a real caller. That is how limbaugh convinced people. It is called Brainwashing!!! Tuck in a little religious angle and you have the same thing.

There is no asterisk on page one, however. Right wing Christians hate ALL gays, even themselves if they are closeted.

Notice I said "man", not "boy". Republicans have demonstrated that they are perfectly okay with pedophilia and think that it's not gay if you are the "top" in an encounter--the screwER rather than the screwEE. Just as long as you're not on the receiving end. I can just hear Pat Robertson, his eyes half closed in religious ecstasy, explaining why Trump is a model Christian even though he (in this hypothetical scenario) rogered a teenage boy.

Oh, who am I kidding? Trump could roast and eat a baby on live TV, and the Evangelicals simply would not care less.

Just remember, the fucking religious right republicans with the 100% backing of their fake christian preachers IMPEACHED Bill Clinton for a BJ!

Trump make BC look like a choirboy!

Trump has done a hundred things worthy of impeachment and when the democratic party regains the House they damn well better impeach that evil scumball traitor in the White House just like Bill Clinton got!!!!!

God gave him wealth, he was born into wealth, so he was chosen by god. Just like all those kings and queens were chosen by god. Just like all those rich criminals were chosen by god, just like all those warlords were chosen by god, just like all those drug runners were chosen by god.

God sure picks some horrible people to bestow wealth on. Are we sure a god is giving all those criminal wealth? Perhaps another more diabolical creature is handing out wealth.

Their worldview is a small group of white men in charge, and all the wimmen and wealth they can find.

Then they get to fsck off all day, while everyone else (i.e., whomever else they allow to live) works for them at a wage guaranteed to keep themselves in economic slavery. That way, there's no one else on the economic "ladder" to challenge you for your "rung".

Cuz that's always the biggest threat to these peeps - the person on the rung below you. By controlling the type and number of workers, and their ability to reproduce and earn a wage, they control the world.

I'm *So Sure* this is what Jesus would want...

(1). Trump should submit to the same sworn deposition, on tape, as Bill Clinton did.

(2). Trump should answer questions from the same Judiciary Committees that Bill Clinton did, as they prepared for the impeachment hearings.

(3). Every elected Congressman (and then Senator, if he's impeached) should have to go on record by voting on the Judiciary Committee's findings.

Every time a Trumpian uses the "what about" bullshit line, I say that all I want is for Trump to be treated just like Bill Clinton was and let's see where that lands him.

Republicans think they are being treated worse than Democrats are.

Not true.

Bill and Hillary Clinton were investigated almost from the moment Clinton took office and settled in the White House. They underwent almost eight years of investigations with short pauses at the most. It was terrible.

And the Republicans would have done the same thing with Obama if they could have found some excuse. Hillary was put on the stand about Benghazi and her e-mails for long sessions.

But the Republicans think they are the victims.

That view needs to be analyzed and set straight. This is not about victimizing Republicans. It is about getting honest government.

Don't we Americans have the right to honest government?

I refuse to allow this movement to hid under religious and benign terms. Won't say 'conservative Christians, 'values voters' or even faith-based community. That disguises their defacto role in American life.

21st century Evangelism (mostly the white variety, I admit) is a well-funded, militant force that seeks to dominate the greater society and impose its agenda. Nothing is off the table for them and their zealots are locked in.
