(146,254 posts)what the text says. It's a lie. That is not OK. The end does NOT justify the means.
Why post a lie and then argue when someone points out the lie? Is that what you think the right thing is to do?
I'm sorry, but you're quite wrong. If you read about the photo being fake, why did you post it here?

(22,665 posts)So not a missile, because it's a laser guided freefall bomb with wings. Curious too based on the angle, the bomb appears to be headed towards the person with the camera. How did the camera survive? That's a minimum 500 lbs bomb. If it's a GBU-10, it could be up to 2,000 lbs of high explosives.
I'd say the bomb itself costs more than $100,000 and the airplane that dropped it is probably at least $20 million, if not in the $40 - $50 million range.
Similar to these JDAM smart bombs.

(58,724 posts)Not photo-shopped.
Mahmud Hams was the AFP photographer who captured the image.
He was actually a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in News Photography in 2008 for that photograph.

(58,724 posts)But the original, Pulitzer Prize finalist photo (as seen via Getty Images) is quite powerful.
I guess the internet turns everything into a joke and/or a lie.

(58,724 posts)Throwing Fatah members off of buildings, blowing up their party headquarters, and taking complete control over Gaza.
In any case, the photo does not depict anything in Yemen and does not correspond to the paragraph accompanying it in the tweet.
If one wants to promote the idea that war is bad and killing civilians is wrong, then I fully endorse those sentiments.
Posting a photo and claiming it is something that it is not, however, is something that ought to be called out and corrected.
The land they claim that was "grabbed" (truthfully it was lost) when Israel was attacked and beat back the offensive and won the territory from the aggressors.

(22,765 posts)the photographer. Of all the things you might have taken issue with, the one is totally bogus.

(186 posts)This is a "Paveway" GBU 12 smart bomb.
It's an airstrike being carried out on a target... Without knowing what the target was I cannot say if it's right or wrong or if I feel bad about it.
I will say that terrorism and terrorists come cheap..cheaper than what we use against them.

(58,724 posts)It could be a Spice.
In any case, it is a picture of Gaza in 2007 and it depicts an Israeli air strike on the Hamas Executive Force building.
