(3,985 posts)See pic 2 above. An attractive blond lady, head only, mysteriously appears on the large mans white shirt. She is not in the other 2 pics.
Makes me wonder......

(7,522 posts)The border of her sweater lines up and appears to be the shirt hem of the guy behind her optically. She's leaning down to the right in the others, the camera is also repositioned, but she's just to the left of 45's head in both pics. She's behind a short-haired lady texting on her phone in both images.

(1,770 posts)there are a lot of different news graphics computers. I used to be a Chyron op. and ran across a lot of different systems. Chances are, though, it's a Chyron. But the info is generally entered in by a news producer. All the op tends to do now is set up templates.

(34,055 posts)then it is used to death. This year's word is chyron.
It was temblor during a period of heavy earthquakes - I don't remember when.
Before that it was vetting, which popped out of nowhere in the late 90s (and is now used to death, and no one can imagine it wasn't ever in everyone's vocabulary. But i remember the date because I "spanked' one of my students for using obscure language that a judge might have to go look up to understand . . . and now, even with that very clear memory, I'm questioning how I could ever have thought it was obscure because it is so pervasive.)
I'm sure there are others that came (and perhaps went) without me taking notice.
It is like everyone went, "ooh...nice word, let me roll it around in my mouth for a while and taste it . . . and like everything else that you taste every single day, it gets old, after a while.
I don't remember when i started noticing that chyron was the new word du jour - perhaps within the last 6 months.

(51,582 posts)They gave the moron tons of free airtime showing an empty at age and podium waiting for him to appear while no one would discuss the real issues with Hillary. All for ratings and $$$$$$$. If they keep doing this we do not stand a chance it the midterms! Fux Ruse wouldn't have shown Obama at a Dem rally right before a special election for over an hour. FUCK CNN and MSNBC!

(6,916 posts)Good sources:
The New Yorker (the best source. Remnick has done a great, great job.)
The Atlantic
Wa Post
NYT (but keep in mind their strong bothsideism mandate)
LA Times
Miami Herald
Just in general keep in mind who owns a source and the owners agenda. For cable news: media corps own them, and they want high ratings.

(37,648 posts)in a campaign for the Repub candidate?
IMO, it presented Trump in all his glory. Trump is at his worst at political rallies. No one that I've read, except for Trumpers, were impressed by him. If anything, he was worse than he's ever been. The constant speaking about himself, the arrogance, the needy thing he does by hatefully referring to other people who are not involved in that election, his constant referring to how smart he is, etc.
I don't think it's free advertising, in this case, FOR Trump at all. Because he's so disliked across the country.
Lamb's numbers went up. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that CNN intentionally showed the speech because it knew it would hurt Trump's approval rating.
I don't recall if it aired Obama's campaign speeches for Democratic candidates in special elections. If they do it for one, they should do it for all. If they do it, it doesn't matter who the Prez is.
