(24,128 posts)I was unaware that Spurlock had people filming at Malheur when this part of the "movement" was going down. From the trailer, it doesn't look as if he just pieced together news coverage. The photography seems very good. I'll let you guys know what it's like after I watch it.
I have been following these events and others connected to it closely.

(17,619 posts)..I followed the group of reporters that were with them. A bunch of their supporters were going to hold patriot meetings... I helped shut one of them down when I googled the address and saw a playground next door to the Lions Club..their meeting place. These folks pack out of hubris and for no other reason but accidents happen. We contacted the Lions club about the playground and shortly after, the Bundy supporters were hollering NO FAIR. I watched that guy get shot over and over again. He definitely went for his gun first. He wasn't very good nor very fast. I listened to that nut case David for hours. So I have had enuff of them.
I knew Trump was gonna win when they were found not guilty.

(24,128 posts)The Bundys themselves had their Nevada case dismissed in court because of some negligence on the part of the prosecution.
I know about the social media activity because for a long time, that's how they organized. They have scaled that back a bit.
My point to this is that this cult has grown, and I don't think it's going to go away. It started with a Sagebrush Rebellion kind of fervor and then recruited cult types who were offshoots of the LDS Church, and THEN recruited militia "patriots" and sovcits to create a toxic and ignorant stew.
So this documentary seems relevant. As I said, I'll post again after I've seen it. And by the way, YES that is why they carry.

(24,128 posts)He was convicted in Denver last week. The sovcits are involved in this too. (Forgot to mention it in my list of tribes.) Bundy followers were posting in support of him from a courthouse in Denver.
