1. If Haspel participated in "torture" ...then this person cannot be allowed to be anything..

Torture is against the law...which law?....The Constitution....Bill of Rights, 8th Ammendment

The Eighth Amendment (Amendment VIII) of the United States Constitution prohibits the federal government from imposing excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishments.

exact words.......Eighth Amendment...

"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted"

First 10 Amendments were ratified December 15, 1791, and form what is known as the "Bill of Rights."

2. That should happen,

but I think the odds are overwhelmingly against it. The CIA isn't going to admit torture.

4. Was that under her command?

I don't know her background other than the brief blurbs out today.

5. Good Question. That is why the ACLU is demanding to know if this was under her command.

Stuart G does not know.
...As was said before by Sgt Shultz in "Hogan's Heroes". a 60s TV show......."I know nothing"

Here is info on "Hogan's Heroes"...yes, I am old enough to have seen it in the late 60s..Yes, it is somewhat funny and enjoyable....

6. I started digging around after I asked the question.

This article is pretty informative on her role:

Haspel’s identity and role in the CIA’s torture program was previously concealed by its classification regime. However, when Haspel was designated deputy director of the agency in February 2017, her role in the program became more clear.

Specifically, Haspel was in charge of the CIA’s “Cat’s Eye,” a secret prison located in Thailand. Haspel allegedly oversaw the daily torture of detained individuals at Cat’s Eye. According to media accounts and the memoirs of former CIA personnel, Haspel was personally involved in the torture of one Zayn Al-Abidin Muhammad Husayn, also known as Abu Zubaydah.

It's interesting that prosecutors in Munich are reviewing a request for an arrest warrant for her. That might put a damper on any enthusiasm to approve her appointment, or it might make them more gung-ho depending on how they feel about torture.

8. I've read she was directly involved in kidnapping

people without even a pretense of due process and delivering them to prisons in countries where they could be and were held and tortured, and no doubt murdered, at will.

7. And I'm old enough to know about Hogan's Heroes,

although it was a favorite of my parents, not mine. I'm an avid reader and never watched much TV.
