But at some point Pompeo is bound to disagree with Trump, if for no other reason that Trump changes his mind all the time without warning anybody - so inevitably, everyone who thinks they're on the same wavelength turn out not to be.

What he says on any given morning changes 180 degrees by nightfall, or sooner. Can there even be any sort of "wavelength"? It certainly doesn't appear so...just degrees of chaos.
