...I am going to be a wreck on Nov. 06. Just sayin'
And for those of you who are going to tell me that I should focus my angst productively, don't worry. I'm a volunteer on team Rosen here in NV. We get started on turning a red senate seat blue this Saturday

(1,474 posts)But honestly, when I consider exactly how much is going to be on the line in November, I wonder how I am not going to chew the tips of my fingers down to nubs.

(4,033 posts)from this district. I lived in that district for 14 years. Moved out last year. Still have 4 family members in that district, in township I lived in. My other brother lives 1/4 mile from me and he's in that district. My 87 year old mom called, she said she's been praying for Conor all day.
Also a personal connection, my late father according to my brothers, was good friends with Conor's father.

(1,474 posts)It's tight. Let's hope the margin remain. Looking good, but CLOSE!!
Thanks for responding, and honestly, Conor seems like SUCH a genuinely great dude. Bring it home!!

(32,579 posts)Some of these Democrats haven't voted for the last 12, 14 years. The previous Representative ran unopposed in a gerrymandered district that designed to help him skate in every election. I'm talking about Republican Rep. Tim Murphy who resigned in the Fall under a scandal.
Now instead of the next Republican running unopposed, suddenly this great young man Conor Lamb stepped forward and threw his hat in the ring. Everyone was energized because now there's a candidate that people can get excited about. We've got a horserace here and Lamb might actually win it. Even if he doesn't win this time, he can run again in the fall in the newly redrawn district.
Keep in mind that the 18th district had a lot of Dems who voted for Trump in 2016, or they stayed home. That's not happening now, they're coming to vote for Lamb and I'm sure that many of those Dems regret voting for Trump last time out. This is all good for the Fall Midterms!

(7,220 posts)richly deserved, too; the cheating, corrupt treasonous bastards. If it's this close in a deep red district, November is going to be cathartic for many of us.

(1,474 posts)...but at this point I want the real thing
BTW, I have never been to Kauai, but I've been to Maui and the Big Island many times, and every time I am there I get the feeling that I absolutely MUST relocate to the middle of the Pacific. I LOVE your state!! (I am an adjunct history prof/freelance writer and can live lots of places.)

(14,565 posts)I've always bemoaned that. This race would have been completely drowned out in a normal election cycle, especially in a presidential year.

(1,474 posts)We here in NV are getting ever more blue. It would be so AWESOME to have a 100 percent female representation in the Senate.
