London Evening Standard: As a lesson in good natured statesmanship if not to say simple manners it was a masterclass. For Michelle Obama cast aside stuffy protocol to join in the fun and games to celebrate todays opening of the Olympic games with more than 1,000 children.
The First Lady met the children most of them from U.S. military families in the grounds of Winfield House, the official residence of the U.S. ambassador in London

(10,751 posts)I've never seen anything like it. Jackie Kennedy had a wonderful flair, to be sure, but she could never have loosened up in this way. I've liked most of our First Ladies, even the Republican ones, with a couple of exceptions who will remain unmentioned. But Michelle Obama is just a wonder to behold in the role, and I'm glad we have her as our ambassador to the Olympics and of course, in general.

No wonder the shrunken-soul Republicans hate her.
