(6,110 posts)Counts do not include about 1400 absentee ballots from a couple of red counties.

(7,963 posts)Of the absentee ballots. Statistically not possible.

(26,044 posts)They only posted that, after 100% of all votes cast today (i.e. NOT including absentees or provisionals), Lamb was in the lead. If absentees/provisionals flip that result, they'll update that web page with new totals showing Saccone ahead.
Also, state election boards aren't in the business of "calling" elections -- that's the media's job. They certainly aren't in the business of saying "the only way X can win is if he takes 70% of the absentees, but that's unlikely, so we'll just say Y won." (And, by the way, while getting 70% of the remaining absentees may be highly unlikely, it is NOT "statistically impossible." )
The only OFFICIAL word from the state will be when the election is "certified" -- which won't be until every single vote is counted, including absentees and provisionals, and any requested recounts are finished. Until then, the state of Pennsylvania hasn't "called" a damn thing. In fact, the only places that have "called" this election are Conor Lamb's own campaign, the DCCC, and various DU regulars. Can we please stop the premature celebration until we get more confirmation, which may come as early as tomorrow? I don't want this to turn into La-La Lamb.

(7,963 posts)Because of the reason I posted earlier.

(10,828 posts)Just got in from a week in Arizona. First thing we did after leaving the Nashville Airport was tune in for election results. Amazing! Tight as a tick but Lamb looks as if he pulled it off in a Red Hot district.
Which underscores the fact that if we field candidates matching particular districts, we can win. Even in 'safe' Republican areas. This gives us all a major boost and momentum for November.
Blue Tsunami 2018. I can see it coming from my back porch

(7,768 posts)My dream is to see Adam Schiff as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, yes indeed! (and let the subpoenas fly!)
And once again say, "Madam Speaker!"
Yeah! Blue Tsunami 2018!

(2,640 posts)Schiff has been killing it recently.
I bet that sound of that makes Trump shit his pants orange.

(65,173 posts)we do need a little coverage on our side. This won't even out all the propaganda the RW gets.

(3,363 posts)because Washington County hasn't finished counting absentee ballots yet, but it's up to Lamb if he wants to declare victory already.
Seems a very reasonable response to me.

(8,168 posts)They aren't supposed to be manipulating the news, there is no "our side", there are only facts in an election.
mvd
(65,173 posts)Unfiortunately there is a lot of manipulating already on the RW side. At least wait until he's done like CNN did.

(37,648 posts)The district map...so much BLUE everywhere? He won by the largest margin EVER!
Back to reality...a slim margin is still a win!!!!! I'm sure there were corruption attempts, but Lamb had a large enough margin to overcome them. This is great news!
Another one bites the dust.

(21,096 posts)Imagine if Saccone was in Lamb's position, votes wise. Think he'd hesitate to declare victory? LOL.
It basically plants "I won" in the minds of the public by midnight. (With the math firmly on his side of course.) Any challenge or dragging out by Saccone looks like sour grapes at best or shenanigans at worst.
