Woke up this morning to NPR on the radio and caught the tail end of a piece on immigration...
saying that us baby boomers are dying off faster than the kids are reproducing.
Didn't catch their source for this, but it's been known for years that yer basic middle-class white family is having fewer kids while other ethnic and population groups are having lots of them-- enough to change the population makeup, but not to increase or maintain the total. Now, it's getting critical and the upshot of it is that we pretty much have to open immigration just to maintain our population.
We have been here before and opened the borders to get workers, and are the better for it. Most of us, even our anti-immigration President, are here because some ancestor was welcomed.

We are a nation of immigrants. I wish someone would point that out to Trump.
