(58,785 posts)This nasty (and incredibly stupid) creep was running totally unopposed.
The Lewiston Democratic Party new candidate's name will apparently be announced today. Yet another decency campaign, likely, created by an indecent Republican.

I looked for the candidate's name.. glad to know it will be released today.

(58,785 posts)after all, Trump's always gotten away with it?
Frankly, this also sounds like any of a bunch of jerks I've known every year of my adult life, which has been sadly lived in conservative communities.

(58,785 posts)bald-faced liar (about a comment on the NRA owning Republican pols), and I think it was David he called a moron as well.
David's got a big voice these days. Maine Democrats were already on the move, but this is certainly a good healthy kick for a new campaign.
This appears to be a small, rural district, with a Republican incumbent. GOP and Dem registrations are evenly split, but most are registered independent. Of course, almost all indies usually tend to lean and vote with little difference from if they belonged to a party, but I've read that they are, not unexpectedly, less loyal. Suggesting this state legislature seat may well go blue.

(58,785 posts)has managed to delude so many people into believing we're not just bad but as bad as them, no choice.
This suggests we will be mounting another vote-for-decency campaign:
We should come together to say enough is enough, to reject this bigotry and hatred, and to show that this type of ideology has no place in Maine but especially in the State House, Makas said.
Given that even some people come here to DU are soaked in their Kool-Aid and can't see we're the white hat people, I think we should pound that message. Decency and good sense.
Someone who's studied the development of evil governments for 40 years suggested we should watch out for it by keeping our eyes open for mean people. Today's Republican government is taken over by meanness.

(17,972 posts)We now should go High.! That seems to be working in the last elections.
Concentrate on what we will do for the people. Let the haters splutter out their bile.
Conor Lamb did that in his election. So did Doug Jones. The pus is oozing out of the haters.
