Nickelodeon went off the air for 17 minutes at the time of the national walkout

Nickelodeon halted its regularly scheduled programming for 17 minutes to honor the 17 students and faculty members killed one month ago in Parkland, Florida.

From 10 a.m. until 10:17 a.m. Nickelodeon broadcasted one simple message. The screen read:

"In support of kids leading the way today, Nickelodeon will be off the air until 17 minutes past the hour."

There is hope and we have been looking in the wrong direction for too long.
