he gets fired from his FBI job but then if he goes to work for a Congressman.. he could get his pension!?

I used to work in Personnel in a place with many many departments. Some of them used to hire "temporary" people who never got any benefits. The way they were kept in that status was via an annual break in service.

I wish McCabe all the best, really.
