It would certainly explain why obstruction charges haven't been brought yet, in spite of it occurring quite within the view of the general public. And why the special counsel's office leaked last week that it would table the obstruction charges while developing their other lines of investigation.

The cancer goes far beyond the USA. Trump is both the disease and the symptom. Since so much of the intel against Trumpco came from foreign intelligence sources, it makes sense that we are pooling our assets with our allies and seeking to strike at the heart of the beast and not just its periphery.

I also sincerely believe that our allies are fully aware of our unfortunate takeover and do not view the acts and decisions of our current federal government as indicative of our actual policy. They probably even realize that our electorate, which is easily duped, was easily duped.

If as you say, everyone knew he was in the mob, I think the question is why FBI didn’t take him down years ago.

After he got nailed in the '80s, he's been informing for them on a level of Whitey Bulger. Prosecutors leverage members of the mafia to gather information and evidence on mob bosses to take down networks. Those deals are sealed.
