I think it was mostly the berets but I guess the suits had the look of some alternate reality's naval dress uniforms to some degree too.

The Brits "hippie" vibe event made it stand out more probably. We looked more "in uniform" (military or not) than many countries.

many things you can do with clothes when dressing people alike who have different body types. At least they weren't carrying rifles.

why the Olympics and most sport is just crap! The thing about everyone should play sports is mostly to get you to be a team conformist. That way the you're more pliable for the military or the right wing propaganda machine!!!

RL yacht-type gold embroidered logo such as you'd see on a yacht captain's jacket, sailor pants, red white & blue theme colors, sailor hats and caps.

He does do some plaids and equestrian looks for fall/winter. But his summer clothes are nautical. As were the Olympic outfits.

I love Ralph Lauren. Quality clothes, good fit. And there are great sales. I got a couple of knockout Lauren tops at a resale shop near my house (the shop is near an exclusive neighborhood, so carries some high end clothes).

I didn't see militaristic outfits - what I saw was prominent "upper class" top hats and suits that were "pulling the strings" and pretended to be doing the work that the working class was actually doing. I saw a few British Admirals, but they were a very small part.

Maybe that's only what I "wanted" to see, but it was much more frightening and telling than "militaristic" outfits.
