We will not be responding to each childish, defamatory, disgusting &
false tweet by the President. The whole truth will come out in due
course. But the tweets confirm that he has corrupted the entire
process that led to Mr. McCabes termination and has rendered it
illegitimate. 1:15 PM - 18 Mar 2018

(23,213 posts)The investigation described in the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) report was cleaved off from the larger investigation of which it was a part, its completion expedited, and the disciplinary process completed in a little over a week. Mr. McCabe and his counsel were given limited access to a draft of the OIG report late last month, did not see the final report and the evidence on which it is based until a week ago, and were receiving relevant exculpatory evidence as recently as two days ago. We were given only four days to review a voluminous amount of relevant evidence, prepare a response, and make presentations to the Office of the Deputy Attorney General. With so much at stake, this process has fallen far short of what Mr. McCabe deserved.
This concerted effort to accelerate the process in order to beat the ticking clock of his scheduled retirement violates any sense of decency and basic principles of fairness. It should make all federal government employees, who continue to work in an Administration that insults, debases, and abuses them, shudder in the knowledge that they could be next.

I hope the press seizes on this and totally flames the Orange Bastard and his henchmen over it. And I further hope it becomes a basis for an Article of Impeachment!

(58,785 posts)investigation, recommendations for firing, and the rest.
Interestingly, Sessions' statement on the firing does not include the date of the Office of the Inspector General recommendation that McCabe be fired, and the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility's concurrence.
That date, seemingly some months past, is not in this article, nor did browsing a few others turn it up. Of course, we do know Trump's malice is one reason behind the last-minute firing, which will require McCabe to fight for his pension.
This article does point out that there could possibly be a valid reason for firing at the last moment (unrelated to Trump), which could be very valid and honorable, but says we cannot know at this point.
On the plus side, the official report is due to finally be made public this month or the next, and all this attention suggests it will need to be. Maybe then we'll also find out why the firing and release of the report were delayed for so long. If McCabe had been fired in 2017, this would of course not have happened now.
* Note that the OIG is waiting for Mueller to conclude to decide if he needs to expand the investigations of Comey and McCabe to include Sessions and Flynn.

(58,785 posts)on our side, and maybe McCabe will turn out to be one of them. Maybe read Warfare's update and be readied for the truth, whatever it is.
Unfortunately, vanquishing Trump would only reveal more clearly who our big opponents really are. We have the law and our heroes on our side and we're going to win, but it's going to take a while.
Oh, and we have the midterms! That's our time to be the heroes and come out smite those bastards a really devastating blow, and that time our legal, legislative, judicial and journalistic heroes will be cheering us on.

(5,801 posts)for the moron: attempt to damage McCabe's credibility re the Mueller investigation, and cow Federal employees who have been critical of the moron.
The moron and his kook brothers maladministration are coming for Federal employees, big time. If the Dems don't take back control of Congress, and after gosuck is the deciding vote in that public employees' union case, expect to see attacks on all aspects of the Civil Service system, including going after pay, benefits, and status.
I know many Federal employees who voted for the moron, for a variety of reasons, and who stand to be hurt badly. Hard to feel sorry for them.
