Climate Warming More Accurate Than Climate Change. Here Is Why I Think Such. .

It does not matter so much that we have cold swings or snow. What matters is that these severe swings are really about warming. Here is an example of what I mean.

During one of the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" the pirates decide they need to rock the ship until it capsizes believing they are really in fact upside down. So they rock and they rock and the boat rocks more and more back and forth until it flips. The climate is rocking back and forth and all over the place as it warms. There are extremes of hot and cold that grow more pronounced until it flips to one side entirely.

I believe the word "change" was inserted because it looked less ominous than it was. And one could respond to naysayers talking about cold and snow as proof that warming was a hoax. Change as far as I am concerned using 'change" is fraudulent.

Go back to 1958 when Dr. Frank Baxter explained the dangerous weather experiment with rising carbon to Richard Carlson in a Bell Telephone science program about weather. Even then scientists knew that we were changing the atmosphere that could have terrible consequences. Back then there was talk about controlling weather.

Scientists suspect that Venus had normal atmosphere early on. For some reason it flipped to what it is now. They want to know why.

No one wants to talk about if we could actually flip suddenly to something disastrous. Now we are stopped from pursuing weather science at the national level in the US. We are now climbing into more unknown territory as the carbon keeps climbing. With Trump and the GOP it will continue. And we do not have time.

There are so many red flags that are being more than ignored. They are being actively suppressed here in the US.

So I think warming really does fit.

the "warming" thing refers just to average global temperatures increasing.

there are other changes; and importantly, the "average" concept escapes many people who mocked the idea every time there was a colder than usual day.


i think "change" is more accurate because it covers things that aren't directly "warming", such as increasing variance in temperatures, more storms, more severe storms, etc.

3. Ultimately It Does Not Matter What We Call It. We Will Cook In The End.

We need to understand whether or not we could flip disastrously or not. We simply do not know that. We are tempting the climate Tiger and we may really be in deep trouble already.

One trouble is that the average American is just too stupid.

It doesn't matter what you call it, extractive energy industries have funded a successful effort to muddy the waters and delay or defeat any meaningful measures to address it. Conservatives believe it like they believe Jesus is coming back - there's no fact that will persuade them. America will not lead on this issue as long as Republicans have any power at all, and that day is a long way off.

Climate Warming is a fait accompli. It will happen. Whether it "flips" to a pattern that inhibits human habitation, we just have to cross our fingers.

Global warming could become like the Permian Extinction that just about wiped out everything. It took 10 million years for the earth to recover. In any event what we are doing now risks starting that kind of scenario. There are tantalizingly bad signs in our data even now.
