there was a neighborhood bully who picked on all of us, and everybody was afraid of him.

Then one of the older kids in the area who was taking boxing lessons decided to start a boxing club. In my first match I got paired with the bully. Facing off in a ring with gloves on, and a referee keeping it safe and fair, I punched him in the nose. He ran home crying and never picked on me again. After that, the other kids started standing up to him, and eventually he backed down and stop being a bully.

It wouldn't surprise me, however, to find out he went right on being a bully to other people.
