So - yes, it is interesting, but the people in the video are not your average Joe and Jane.

(21,506 posts)far beyond the subtle manipulation we are talking about with Cambridge. It is a huge leap from flipping a vote or just demotivating someone from voting to murder.
There are millions of very susceptible people.
And we all have our own triggers. What Cambridge did was analyze the face book data to discover those triggers and use them against people. In ways much more targeted than the push and much more likely to succeed.

(67,102 posts)honestly it is typical tabloid TV but it is a window into how you can manipulate people to do things they would never consider through social pressure.
It is interesting but a little too sensational to be taken too seriously.

Still an interesting watch. Seeing these folks manipulated step by step to more and more extreme behavior with an explanation on how they are manipulating them is quite interesting even if they try a little too hard to make it sensational.
