why he voted against Dodd-Frank. It was not a vote that would cause him to lose votes with repugs, yet he voted WITH the repugs. I'm still not happy about that.
And while that statement is a good milktoast statement, it wont win over any repugs in THIS state and is so very middle of the road. I am glad he won the election here, but I want to see more "democrat" and less of taking the easy road.

Before condemning these senators, take a look at this video from Vice on HBO. In it, Frank says don't condemn these senators, 95% of Dodd-Frank is not changed, and more.

Sorry, on my phone and can't copy link, but search under this title--

What Barney Frank Really Thinks About Roll-Back of Dodd-Frank.

Read my response below. He has a D behind his name. The repugs wont vote for him if he cooks dinner for them and then serves it on a silver platter. There is no sword to fall on.

the same day.

If you watched the video, Frank says don't bash these Democrats who voted for the bill, plain as day.

So give Frank and Jones a farking break.

In Alabama, that will entail making plenty of concessions to the opposition party. He'll paint it as "representing all the citizens of [his] state." Funny how that line of reasoning is only applied to Democrats whereas Republicans are free to hew as far rightward as they want.

I've got news for Mr. Jones: as long as you have that D behind your name, you're not winning re-election. You can do what is in the best interests of Alabamians or follow their whims instead, a path which has kept the Heart of Dixie in the ditch for the last 200 years. It's your choice.

not ONE person that I know even knew about this vote UNLESS they wanted it voted down. There was NO upside to him voting for it with the repugs. The voting repugs wont care because he is a democrat and the voting democrats WILL care because they voted for a DEMOCRAT.
Vote for the people who put you into office sir. And, if I ever get a return call from his office, I WILL tell them that.

Can we give him credit for that instead of changing the subject so to be critical?

I expect him to represent me. Is that asking too much? Especially on a issue like this that the repugs in my state couldn't care less about??
And as far as doing something good?

"We must acknowledge the deadly consequences that can follow when a gun is in the wrong hands but also recognize and respect the freedom to own and enjoy guns by law-abiding citizens as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the Constitution," Jones said. "Those two concepts … are not mutually exclusive."

"You can't simply demonize the NRA and pro-gun groups," Jones said. "I know these groups sometimes take what many, including me, consider extreme positions."

Yes, I can. And I will.

This is the last I will say about this in this discussion. The jury is out (for me) as to whether he will serve the people who put him into office.
