(92 posts)She will never eeck it out in the General. Only reason she wins in Tn is because of her highly gerrymandered District. Bredesen is well liked in Tn

(5,399 posts)pull it off. Marsha is loathsome.
Welcome, TN neighbor!

(92 posts)In 2006, he swept all 95 counties, with 1.2 mil vs .5 mil for Jim Bryson. He saved TN from financial ruin during his first term by making much needed changes to Tenn Care. He has a solid track record of Governing, unlike MushMouth Marsha. All she has to show is a solid track record of obstruction, and wasting money on frivilous Repug lead Congressional investigations.
PS..Thanks again for all the welcomes!!

(32,556 posts)I wish they would stop calling any place "Trump country" - they did the same thing in the PA special election. The only reason the PA 18th District re-elected their Republican representative so many times is because he ran unopposed in a gerrymandered district. The Dems didn't have anyone to vote for and they stopped voting or caring. That's why the District went for Trump in 2016. Conor Lamb changed all that this year.
Probably the same thing is happening in Tennessee. Has there been a viable Democratic candidate recently for anyone to get excited about? Well there is one now! Good luck Tennessee Democrats! Get out the vote!

(128,372 posts)^^^THIS
There are so many seats where the GOP runs unopposed - either because the state party is so weak and demoralized that they don't bother trying to spend resources on it (including places where Democrats are truly outnumbered due to gerrymandering) or they have been burnt in the past and could only find "weak" candidates to challenge so they give up.
We gotta get -

(347 posts)My Tennessee Republican parents (died in 2005 and 2007), supported Bredesen in his campaign for TN governor. I know several TN Republicans -- the old style Republican. Just talked with one of them -- he's all in for Bredesen, in fact, he's already written a five-figure check.

(14,167 posts)He has really nice favorability numbers for a Democrat in a "red" state.
Like Lamb and Moore, there are Republicans who simply like him and will quietly give him their vote.
He can win this. I will donate to him.

(31 posts)I hope she keeps running the TV Ads with Drumpt in them.
Makes her look worse everytime he does something stupid (daily?)
She is really tying herself to him and looks unhinged because of it.
Bredesen on the other hand, his ads are thoughtful and he is reaching out to the CheckPant GOP'ers.
