"Now Im F---ing Doing It My Way": Jubilant and Self-Liberated, the President Prepares for War with MuellerWith John Dowd out, John Kelly and Ty Cobb marginalized, Joseph diGenova on board, and Marc Kasowitz possibly returning, the next battle comes into focus.

For the better part of the last month, Donald Trump has been winging it. His standoff with his chief of staff, John Kelly, appears to be resolved for the time being, with Trump having decided to return to the seat-of-the-pants decision-making that he believes won him the presidency. That doesnt mean he has fully given up the idea of firing Kelly, though. One outside adviser to the White House said Trump has recently mulled the concept of creating a new West Wing structure without a chief of staff, one that would instead have four co-equal principals reporting directly to him. Trump seems to be loving his new freedom. He was fucking excited and jubilant, said one Trump friend who spoke to him in recent days. He was like, everythings great and these fuckers in the media are beside themselves.
But Trumps self-liberation comes at a dangerous moment, with special counsel Robert Muellers investigation reaching closer and closer, stoking Trumps impulses to go to war. Earlier this month, Mueller crossed one of Trumps stated red lines when he subpoenaed Trump Organization business records. According to four Republicans in regular contact with the White House, the move spurred Trump to lose patience with his team of feuding lawyers. Trump hit the roof, one source said. Today, Trumps personal lawyer John Dowd resigned under pressure from Trump.
In private, Trump friends and outside advisers have been stoking his desire to go on the offensive for months. Trump has heard that his lawyers are idiots; that Muellers probe is a coup detat; and that Trumps only crime is having won the election.

They will encourage and endorse his base gutter instincts. I hope America and the world in general can resist his maniacal insanity.
Its a long, long time till the midterm elections.

(19,558 posts)Trump has assembled a PR team of legal counsel in an attempt to smear Mueller, but Mueller has truth and justice on his side.
I have to believe, for all our sakes, Mueller prevails.

(51,569 posts)his new attorneys will let him have his way and he will testify and hang himself. Now the question is, will the GOP in both chambers live up to what they said this week and if that happens (fires Mueller) he will be impeached by them and that will end his presidency?

(33,643 posts)If the GOP was going to DO ... jack? They'd observe what Trumps been saying and doing the past week and already have a bill on the Floor protecting Mueller. But they don't.
Their excuse they gave last time 'oh, we don't need to cause there's no SIGN he's planning on doing so' ... is a complete of f***ing horseshit. They didn't cause they don't want to ... and he's making OBVIOUS gestures now ... and they won't do shit, again, cause that was never the real reason they didn't act months ago. They don't wanna.
If they believe he has any semblance of a viable plan, even WAR, or martial law, or widespread massive cheating ... to keep them in power come November? They'll won't do a damn thing to him if he fires Mueller. And hiring of Bolton was meant to give them that assurance ... War is Coming ... don't worry if I fire Mueller!

(37,428 posts)...for how Trump really feels?
That he remembers how to act jubilant in front of others has nothing to do with whether or not he feels isolated, frightened and completely out of his depth.

"His way" has resulted in a personal loss of a MINIMUM of 9.6 million dollars.
Idiot.
