Texas 4-Year-Old Shoots 7-Month-Old Baby

A 7-month-old baby is in the hospital after being accidentally shot by a 4-year-old at a house in Temple, Texas.

The condition of the infant is unknown following the shooting at a house in the 300 block of South 25th Street at around 2:31 p.m. local time. KWKT-TV reported that the baby was conscious and breathing when it was taken to McLane Children's Hospital.

..............................................

Details are still scant at this stage, including what type of weapon was used or how the 4-year-old got hold of it. Police have so far only said the shooting appeared to be an accident that took police inside the home.

KWTX-TV reported that there was a sign outside the home in Temple that warned people of weapons inside. The sign reads: “The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes. The response time of a .357 is 14 hundred feet per second.”

What was the response time for the ambulance to arrive there to save their bullet-riddle infant, I wonder.

I think gross negligence would be more likely to stick. (nt) ehrnst Mar 2018 #4

or a babysitter with a concealed carry permit.

Somehow more guns would have made this better!

just the same as if they had fired the gun themselves. Add a few charges of negligence and child endangerment to that.

There needs to be a charge sufficient to keep this "responsible" gun owner from ever owning a gun legally again. Same goes for the dimbulbs who "forgot" their trusty shootin' arn was in their luggage when they went through security at the airport.

NRA solution: all 7 mo old babies need to be armed.

Damn parents need to be tossed in jail immediately for felony child abuse IMO but probably nothing will happen to them.
