Restaurants and hot spots around Washington are rolling out the red carpet for protesters joining the March For Our Lives in D.C. on Saturday, offering freebies to demonstrators. Many of the giveaways tied to the anti-gun violence march, organized by survivors of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting, are geared towards students participating in the daylong event.
The March For Our Lives is set to feature a 12 p.m. rally on Pennsylvania Ave., blocks from the Capitol and White House. Sister protests are also being held nationwide.
The D.C. event will include Broadway stars Lin-Manuel Miranda and Ben Platt performing their anti-gun violence mashup "Found/Tonight," as well as speeches from the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting, which left 17 students and faculty dead.
Among the celebrities participating in the march are Ariana Grande, Julianne Moore, George Clooney, Jimmy Fallon and Demi Lovato.
