I lost my niece. My mother collapsed and couldn't deal. I had to fly to Dallas to assist her and my brother with the tragedy. I can tell you that it changes family members lives.
Her sister felt such grief and shame that she hadn't been with her sister that night that she decided to enter the ministry. My brother was never the same and pre-deceased our mother. I had to make the funeral arrangements.
These students are brave and young and strong enough to be the change they want to see. I see hope.

(31,969 posts)I can't imagine what gun violence does to a family. I've been so lucky.
My eternal hope will be that the pig headed lawmakers who see these sheer numbers of people will wake up and see what's going on. And that they will stand up to the NRA and any and all pols who are taking bribes from them. We will do our part by voting out the ones who refuse to see!
