with no one being handcuffed, jailed or shot...the vice principle was the man to fear, and he had no handcuffs or guns, he just had the capacity to deter your free time after school, or if the school said so, he could spank you with a paddle...beats being shot by a mile. (back then it was always a man)

Now, with guns galore, whoa be the vice principle who punishes a student.

One wonders if 'conservatives' think schools are run by 'liberals' and therefore do not support teachers regarding discipline or even what and how teachers teach?

Seems most shooters are conservatives or from conservative families?

When I was a kid, if the teacher said I did something wrong, it was hell to pay at home also...now seems some (most?) parents take the side of their children.

foot to prove I wasn't faking. I was too young and stupid to say "call my doctor."

Vice principles are how the country is being run. Please excuse my comment. I was in the Principal and Vice-Principal's office often enough to learn the spelling.

with Sister Superior, she was both principal and vice-principal, and wielded a mean ruler!

I wonder why your Vice-Principal wondered if you were faking...had he done it as a youth? Something to think about

In grade one, I was revving up to become class clown, even though I was a girl. My teacher (sister something or another) put a brake on that when she told me that kids in the class said I stank!!!

She could have told my mother and saved me the humiliation, but I think it was her way to control me.

I took this news to my mother (we lived with my grandmother at the time) and my grandmother used to wash me down each morning as if she hated me (but I think she was angry with my mother...either my mother didn't care or was too lazy to wash me up in the mornings)

Thus ended my comedy routine.
