Crystal Sugar locked out its workers in August and has dragged its feet on contract language for months. Crystal handles the majority of beet sugar in the Midwest and other parts of the country under many different names. I bought it because I prefer beet sugar, but the union bug and local product didn't hurt, either. Now I don't buy it at all, or any other sugar Crystal handles.

Seriously, they're everywhere. Really the only way to be sure you're not buying scab sugar is to buy name-brand cane.
