Imagine a Mormon bishop getting up in Israel and

complaining that Muslims form the governments of states where Muslims are the majority of the population.
Has anyone that senior in a religion run for office in the United States?

Worse: "Muslim" isn't scary enough, so "Islamist" is the go-to term now. arcane1 Jul 2012 #1

France has the largest Jewish population in western Europe so it wouldn't be surprising if some of the houses or apartment buildings he bicycled to didn't house Jewish families. A missionary is almost like a soldier of the religion, on an aggressive mission to convert everyone he can and is more than just a simple follower of the faith. I wonder how many religious missionaries have run for President.

No Mormon - including Romney is interested in letting anyone remain in their faith. They have one goal - to convert everyone to the LDS faith - either in this world or in the next. That's why you see endless LDS temple ceremonies for the dead.

Romney the Mormon may respect Israel's decision to bomb Iran but he will not respect their decision to practice their faith.

He was in essence a part time, non-payed pastor for 4 years over a congregation of 300 people (or .000023% of all Mormons).
