Stormy's goal is to maximize the value of her story and how much of that value she can collect.
In that light, the 60 minutes interview was never going to be anything more than a teaser.
As her lawyer noted, there is more to come -- unless Donnie again buys her silence, for what's now a more appropriate price. Of course, there are challenges there, even if he were willing to cough up that much.
In any event, remember that her goals are not our goals. She's in it for herself.

(262 posts)...and the best thing to come out of all this is that the MSM is openly asking Blotus about the affair now - the genie has been let out of the bottle - and it's delicious that he has to keep his big mouth shut about it ! It must be driving him crazy.

(8,197 posts)She could well be facing financial ruin over this. And, as she pointed out, she could be alienating half of her fan base.

(26,403 posts)I think she's a very pragmatic woman, fully in control of herself. I do think she has far more ethics than Donnie, though she still is no angel. (Not referencing her porn career - just how she does business).
But more importantly, I believe I would rather read her version of "The Art of the Deal" than Donnie's. Her control about the story telling and the negotiation has a lot more sizzle and meat than any Trump steak over pretended.
As for anyone who thought this would bring Trump down, you need to expend that energy on getting candidates elected in 2018. As a Democrat, I would take the page from the GOP playbook and bring this story up during any slows news cycle to keep Trump and the GOP off balance and unable to gain any initiative.

(2,897 posts)anyway. If anything, the one thing in this saga that could truly bring him down is the accusation of "130,000" being an in-kind contribution in violation of campaign finance laws is already out there and with the FEC deadlocked/Sessions at the DoJ/Republican's holding both houses even that's a long shot. Heck, DoJ prosecutors couldn't even get John Edwards on campaign finance violations for Bunny Mellon's million dollar payoff to his mistress.
At best, this hurts his poll numbers, Dems take the house and they can investigate it to bring his numbers down some more before 2020.
Absent her having some sort of smoking gun related to a crime that the FEC doesn't have to authorize an investigation of, this was never going to end w/ the Oompa Loompa resigning on the White House steps.

(2,415 posts)I went to twitter and liked everyone's tweet about spanky trying to get it trending, plus I got to throw it in a group text that I watched the stormy Daniels interview which my right leaning friend didn't know about it but talked trash about trump, so yeah, it was all good in my little world. Oh, and I watched it on my phone while I was cooking for my republican dad, so again, I enjoyed it.

(1,294 posts)does going forward. What is compelling about this is they have a nice little disgusting sideshow to further debase Trump in the minds of Americans with no end of their "news" in sight. It will be yet another front where Trump is lacking any control, and it plays very well against the image he thinks he's projecting of authoritative leader.
