It was because of how articulate these kids were right after the massacre, right after escaping with their own lives that caught everyone's attention. They all have a presence, a mindfulness unusual for their age. They spoke clearly and with passion. They continue to do so.

The right-wingers and NRA are trying every trick to rattle, scorn and humiliate. It hasn't worked and it won't. This group is becoming the voice of an entire generation right on the cusp of full adulthood. Their impact has been profound in the now and I believe will continue to be so in the future.

We can all be proud of these kids.

As for DeVos? She could only dream to speak as well. The woman can't even give a straight 'yes' or 'no' answer.

I vote for the kids!

They are all too eager to siphon resources from our public schools and brainwash kids at the public's expense.

10. Good public education should be available for every child.

Several of these kids were in Advanced Placement classes, which teach kids to think and to defend their ideas with facts and valid arguments. The Parkland kids are obviously bright, but they have also benefitted from dedicated teachers and good classromm experiences. Every child in this country deserves the same quality of schools, teachers, and opportunity. Betsy DeVos be damned!

She asked Emma Gonzalez about the personal attacks. Emma responded that she just makes it into a joke. In other words, they laugh at the personal attacks.

If you haven't seen it I recommend it. Rachel goes all fan girl on them at the end. It's very nice to see.

A Florida district secretary who accused two survivors of the Parkland school shooting of being crisis actors has been fired.

GOP Rep. Shawn Harrison tweeted on Tuesday that his aide, Benjamin Kelly, had been let go following the disparaging comments about students who escaped last week's massacre alive.

'Tonight Mr Kelly was terminated from his position as my District Secretary. I am appalled at and strongly denounce his comments about the Parkland students,' he wrote. 'I am again sorry for any pain this has caused the grieving families of this tragedy.
Congressional aide Benjamin Kelly sent this email to a Tampa Bay Times reporter on Tuesday about shooting survivors David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez. He was fired for it later
