Ashamed and scared----and pissed!

Trump's approval rating is currently hovering at around 39%. And, I guess I'm warped, but just that fact makes me ashamed to be a part of a society that condones and encourages Trump's near total moral bankruptcy.

But, then, after the shame comes fear. I am afraid, not so much for myself, but for the people I love and who will likely survive me: my wife; my children; my grandchildren. I believe Trump and those who still support him are literally capable of any vile act you can imagine if thought necessary or helpful to retaining or increasing their power. I specifically include murder, mass incarceration and cancelling elections in response to an "emergency" of their creation.

And, finally, after I have been shamed and scared, I arrive at pissed---royally, incandescently, "--- and the mule you rode in on" PISSED! So angry that I will not hesitate to call out Trumpers wherever they dare raise their empty heads; so mad that I will not back up one inch when they advance; so pissed that I will smile at their attempts at intimidation and thoroughly enjoy the flickers of doubt and, yes, fear on THEIR faces when they first realize "this one isn't retreating!"

I understand that some will judge this post foolish or extreme or even that worst of all offenses for a liberal: intolerant. I p!ead guilty only to intolerance. I am simply no longer willing to tolerate their intolerance. As to "foolish" or "extreme", I guess that is for others to judge and the passage of time to reveal.

some of those who disapprove of trump, would still vote for him. They are only mad there is no wall, he hasn’t deported millions, hasn’t nuked Iran, and worse.

I saw in them the change that I thought that we had achieved in the 60s. If you want to make yourself feel good, write a letter to your local newspaper and start listing all of the things that the GOP have no moral standing on anymore. Start with all of their key issues. Fiscal responsibility, family values etc. They have lost it all in support of Trump. We need to convince 5% of Republicans of how their party is officially, morally bankrupt for supporting Trump. Add to that anew group of voters who are just now eligible to vote, who are fired up. Plus a grass roots movement on our side starting at the local level.

We won’t have to be tolerant. They will just have to keep up.

I do not want to be part of the final chapter in "The Rise And Fall of the United States."

Republicans don't seem to mind--curious for a bunch of self-declared "patriots." Waving the flag as the Titanic went down didn't keep anyone dry. Republicans don't understand that it would have been better to avoid the iceberg altogether.

I am glad that any of my grandchildren will be granted the right to a dual nationality (USA and Germany) by birth.

if they cancel the elections, then let us rise up in massive, disruptive civil disobedience until we have elections. And then let us elect people who actually care about us instead of corporate profits, billionaires and greed.

15. In my opinion this 39% are the same people hanging on for dear life in the hopes that Pence gets in.

They want a real conservative fundamentalist in the White House to lay the building blocks of Armageddon. Even Pence realizes what kind of a shit-show this is but I'm sure he signed on knowing full well that he'd never win a general election with him at the top of the ticket. He and his followers are putting up with Stormy and all the White House chaos in the slimmest of hopes that a true fundamentalist gets the Presidency.
