I'd rather see that if we're doing reboots of 90's shows.
Seeing Al Bundy is better than Roseanne.

(2,678 posts)Married with (grand)Children? Ridiculous? Sure, but so is bringing back all these shows. Why not bring back Petticoat Junction? Lets see what happened to the three daughters and their offspring. What?! Exactly!!

Gang member: Yeah, your wife's good in bed.
Al: So, you're a liar too.
For some reason, it always gets me. I'd watch a reboot. I back what you say.

Al: "With every bullet so far."
Yes!
There was also one where they were in Dumpwater, Florida...being chased by an axe murderer. Al stopped and said, "Wait, why am I running away from the axe?"

(5,042 posts)It's sad they had to reboot Roseanne to give that pantload a job. And when John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf don't need it.

(5,126 posts)And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there and I'll tell you how we became the nation without care.
In West Virginia, born and raised, that is where they spent most of their days, workin' the mines, sayin' the prayers, and looking for someone to address their fears. A bunch of guys, up to no good start making trouble in the nation hood.
One little treason and the nation got scared and said "you're hired" to Mueller and "please, look out for the common good"

(6,393 posts)It could be fun if Smith is interested enough as he said previously he'd love to play the Uncle Phil role in a new light.

(16,423 posts)The Bundy-clan is selfish through and through. They would be for Trump as long as there's something in for them. And they will ditch him as soon as they see something better.

(16,104 posts)the absolutely realistic depiction of married life we saw in that Al Bundy show.
I just could not watch 'Married with Children' - it repeatedly hit way too close to home and usually left me in tears.

(16,423 posts)MwC was pure slapstick and so stupid that the viewers knew that the sexism wasn't meant to be serious. It was okay to objectify women because all men on MwC were losers anyways.
I don't think that that kind of comedy would work nowadays: A slapstick-comedy where
* female characters come in all shades
* all male characters are ugly and/or stupid and/or losers

(7,807 posts)They always ended the show by sitting on the roof puzzling over the weird shit that happens on this planet. We need that kind of thing right about now.
And one of the funniest moments ever on a sitcom was when John Lithgow turned around and said in happy astonishment "We're Jewish!"
