Global investment group Principal is removing its advertisements from Fox News host Laura Ingrahams show, the firm told The Hill on Friday.
A spokesperson for Principal said the management company was in the process of pulling its ads from "The Ingraham Angle."
Principal is at least the 13th advertiser to pull support or distance themselves from Ingraham after she mocked Parkland, Fla., high school shooting survivor David Hogg over his college rejections.
Liberty Mutual, Office Depot, Jenny Craig, Atlantis Paradise Island, Stitch Fix, Johnson & Johnson, Hulu, Nestle, Expedia, Wayfair, Trip Advisor and Nutrish have also taken action since Thursday.

(47,399 posts)I'm hoping Hannity says something equally as offensive, so people can start a boycott against his advertisers. It shouldn't be too hard for Sean, mean and hateful come so naturally to him.
For for Sean, you are wealthy and can afford to take the risk!

(2,434 posts)understand that she needs to issue a sincere apology and make amends? Are RW people even capable of understanding that concept?

(54,256 posts)I can't see it.

(2,434 posts)sincere apology. She could start by discussing gun control and inviting persons on to actually discuss that topic and how laws could be implemented. She could discuss increasing the age by which someone can purchase a gun, especially in Florida. This could be followed by an honest in-depth report on the use of and need for AR-57's or whatever they are and having an actual discussion about this. Each episode can be dedicated to a victim of the Parkland shootings until she has 17 shows demonstrating her amends.

(2,078 posts)her audience will completely abandon her if she does it. They LIVE to offend. LOVE being obnoxious and almost racist.
She might as well sign off for good if she is going to do a REAL apology. It won't happen.

(2,434 posts)amends. I made a suggestion. I do not need to factor in her audience. She needs to factor in her sponsors. I suspect her audience will sit there as they usually do and nod dully and drool with no real idea what she is saying.

(32,633 posts)... and they don't necessarily get to pick which show their ads are on. Some are direct sponsors of a particular show, but a lot are switched around to different timeslots.
If the sponsors who quit are all her direct sponsors, then she's going to be off the show soon. But usually they say, move my ad from Laura Ingraham's show and put it anywhere else. They do that if they get complaints from customers, for example.
Boycotts do work, just ask Bill O'Reilly.

(51,584 posts)I think Honda also, pulled their ads today.
I wish Fux Ruse would go BANKRUPT!

(14,854 posts)The advertisers are pulling as from one show only. It's just smoke and mirrors. Fox News does a little reshuffling and runs those ads during another program, and laughs all the way to the bank.
If they do start to actually lose money on Ingraham's show, they fire her and replace her with someone else just like her, and all the advertisers jump right in to sponsor the new hate show.

(51,584 posts)and one guest (Eric Buller?) said that Fux Ruse has lost advertisers and they haven't come back when discussing this specific topic. I hope this is true.

(9,670 posts)I have no problem that her politics and my politics diverge by a factor of 180 degrees. That's America. I can deal with that.
But that's not what's wrong with LI, with Rush, with Sean, with the lot of them. It's the blatant lies, the contemptuous snark, the pontification, the faux indignation. It's the dog whistles, the ad hominem attacks.
That's what we're trying to rectify. Let there be a level playing field. Let's argue our ideas and our policies on the merits.
They know that if that's the basis upon which we debate, they will lose many more times than they will win. So they engage in unfair practices, and big money is behind them.
Until we strike back at big money.
We need to keep this line of attack in force. It's the right strategy to neutralize them at their roots.
