The Trump Tower meeting: It was on June 3, 2016 a little more than a month after Papadopouloss tip, but still before any news broke about Democrats having been hacked that publicist Rob Goldstone emailed an acquaintance of his, Donald Trump Jr. Goldstone described some news from his clients Aras and Emin Agalarov, a father-son pair of real estate developers whod done business with the Trumps:
The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.
This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its governments support for Mr. Trump - helped along by Aras and Emin.
Don Jr. enthusiastically accepted the offer, and Goldstone arranged a meeting six days later, on June 9. The Trump delegation included Don Jr., Paul Manafort, and Jared Kushner. They met Goldstone, Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, Agalarov company executive Ike Kaveladze, Russian-American lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin, and translator Anatoli Samochornov.
Once the existence of the meeting became public, all parties involved claimed it was a dud, resulting in nothing of consequence. But the timing of the meeting is strange. Three days later, Assange announced hed received emails related to Hillary Clinton. Two days after that, the DNC announced it had been hacked and blamed Russia.
Goldstone saw an article about that and emailed it to Emin and Kaveladze, writing that the news was eerily weird considering what theyd just discussed at the Trump Tower meeting. Guccifer 2.0 began posting the day after that.

(36,412 posts)Restoring in to it's former glory is on my bucket list, and the owner is softening a bit
It's a lot rustier than this one and doesn't have the real attachment or the awning, but it's beautiful in my mind.

(2,050 posts)These old machines are so flippin cool to see in action, my Father was a lover of trains and passed it on to me.
A labor of love to be sure but so worth it when you fire off that boiler and bring her back to life.
Goosebumps....

(36,412 posts)She Who Must be Obeyed is fine if either one shows up; I'm a lucky person.
I was offered a sweat deal for an old Cleveland trencher, but I passed on it because it's gas powered.
Flippin cool is my Stover hit and miss engine, but I'm ready to up my game.
Mine is '37 and still installed in the mixer

(2,050 posts)In my area every year and see all sorts of gear like that.
I worked in the Chevron USA tank farm in Dutch Harbor Alaska for seven years, the tank farm was built in WWII and used three phase motors to pump out the underground tanks.
We were using the original portable International generator to power the pumps that they used in the 40's.
It had an opposed two cylinder pony motor to turn over the diesel to start it when you clutched it in.
Never rebuilt, I used it last in 1992 right before I left Dutch.
There were huge five hp DC motors down in the valve pits under the tanks that I drug out in the late 80's when we cleaned out the tunnels.
They knew how to build stuff back in the day, the technology wasn't quite there yet but the engineering was top notch.
Never obsolete, just old.

90 years old, in the family when new and found and brought back to life by my Father and myself starting in 1974.

But oh what a ride...

(73,528 posts)I strongly recommend Corn & Isikoff's book, which provides the best documentation of what was going on throughout this period. However, for those who haven't read it, I expect Mr. Mueller will be providing court filings that detail much more, very soon. His team has filed several sealed indictments in the past few months, that will be opened soon. Plus there will be more filed.

(3,676 posts)until September happens. This has me all stressed out.
I really just want him gone but failing that I want the daily twitter ranting and raving to stop.
Since I can't MAKE it stop I may opt out of all news and do my best to ignore everything until its time to GOTV. Then I might volunteer.
