*He said the intelligence from Kushner included information on those who were disloyal to Salman and who were his 'enemies', insiders tell DailyMail

*But the crackdown saw accusations of torture and at least one reported death
Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman bragged of receiving classified US intelligence from Jared Kushner and using it as part of a purge of 'corrupt' princes and businessmen, DailyMail.com can disclose.
The de facto ruler of the Middle East's largest economy is currently on a US tour which has seen him meet President Donald Trump in the White House, hold talks with a string of the country's richest and most influential people and book the entire Four Seasons in Beverly Hills for himself and his entourage.
Sources have told DailyMail.com that the prince known by his initials MBS has been boasting about his close relationship with the president's son-in-law and senior adviser, and the intelligence which he has told his circle Kushner passed to him.
The crackdown on 'corruption' in the Saudi kingdom was led by MBS and began in November, days after he had met Kushner for talks in Riyadh.
But it saw allegations of torture as hundreds were rounded up, including princes from rival parts of the Saudi royal family and some of the country's wealthiest businessmen.

(16,420 posts)The Riyadh source said: 'They sat for several hours together. They literally laid out the future map of the entire region, that's why they stayed up to the early hours of the morning from the afternoon before.'

The intelligence named several family members who were opposed to his rise, it was said.
'Kushner got hold of an intelligence briefing,' said the Riyadh palace source, recounting the version which originated with MBS. 'At that time he had a high level of security clearance and had access to that. He copied it and provided its contents to MBS.

(2,050 posts)I'm of the thought that it's the mentality (boy that's a misnomer) of persons that have never had to pay the consequences for their actions.
This is why the "prince" did it and then bragged about it, he's just like them on a grander scale and unless he "slips in the shower" someday he won't give it a second thought except for the bragging.
It's why little jared did it in the first place, he didn't think twice about what would happen, he just wanted to suck up on bended knee to get that loan.
Sociopaths all, but little jareds time is coming, now he's party to torture and murder.
Prison is not going to be kind to him, I have zero doubt he didn't think of the repercussions of what he did.
This won't be allowed to slide, this is HUGE.

(15,805 posts)The White House gig was just the means to and end for all the grifter Trumps, and Kushner is cut from the same cloth. Why wouldn't he trade secret info to butter up a wealthy prince in hopes of securing a huge loan? He had nothing to lose, he didn't care if he put lives at risk, especially not if they were arabs, and it didn't bother him that he jeopardized US national security efforts by divulging secret data.

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/03/weeks-before-blockade-qatar-denied-money-to-kushners-firm.html
Qatar Refused to Invest in Kushners Firm. Weeks Later, Jared Backed a Blockade of Qatar.
"Inreality, the Saudis primary aim was to punish Doha for asserting its independence from Riyadh by, among other things, engaging with Iran and abetting Al Jazeeras journalism. This was obvious to anyone familiar with the Saudis own affinity for (shamelessly) exporting jihadism which is to say, anyone with a rudimentary understanding of Middle East politics.
And it was equally obvious that the United States had nothing to gain from a conflict between its Gulf allies. Qatar hosts one of Americas largest and most strategically important air bases in the Middle East. Any development that pushes Doha away from Riyadh pulls it toward Tehran. Thus, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and virtually every other arm of the U.S. government scrambled to nip the blockade in the bud.
But Jared Kushner was (reportedly) an exception. Donald Trump was more than happy to endorse the idea that his speech had moved mountains, and commended the Saudis for punishing Qatar first on Twitter, and then during a press conference in the Rose Garden. According to contemporary reports, his son-in-law was one of the only White House advisers to approve of this stance".

(613 posts)Violating the espionage act is a severe crime.
There's a word for those who violate the Espionage Act:
"Traitors".
Lionel Mandrake
(4,073 posts)under the espionage act. What's ironic is that the information suppplied to the Soviets by the Rosenbergs was superficial and of little value compared to what Klaus Fuchs gave them, and Fuchs only served a prison sentence of 9 years (in the UK).
I don't know of any other executions under the espionage act.
Call them traitors if you want, but that is technically incorrect.
american_ideals
(613 posts)Traitor means someone who spies against their own country, in this case against America.
Aldrich Ames
Rosenbergs
Robert Hanssen
Klaus Fuchs
Alger Hiss
Kim Philby
All were traitors, for the common definition of the word.

(4,073 posts)That's true whether we are talking legalese or plain English. Treason as commonly understood and as understood by lawyers is not limited to espionage. Many people have been convicted of treason for other kinds of betrayal, e.g., armed rebellion against the government, murdering a liege lord, etc. The Brits used to distinguish high treason from petty treason, but that distinction has been abolished, and it never existed in the USA.
You might want to include Benedict Arnold in your list of traitors, and you might or might not want to take Alger Hiss off the list. Hiss was convicted of espionage, but the case against him was weak and is still being debated.
The following link shows among other things the variety of offenses that have been labeled treason in various places and at various times in history.

(13,935 posts)You folks just don't understand the high stakes of the various wheelings and dealings of international property development and the cloak and dagger of commercial real estate finance.
Jared is only bringing to the table the very best commodities in his executive toolbox available to him so he can close the most favorable deal for the people he truly represents. After all he is duty bound to strike the best deal he can possibly muster for the benefit of the stockholders. As an executive he is also duty bound to his fiduciary responsibilities to maximize bottom line profits for the owners.
Now if one of the commodities Jared brings to the table as a bargaining tool or chip happens to be top secret USA Intel information - so be it - he is fully authorized to act at his total behest on our behalf.
Oh.... Wait...
He has not been authorized to do anything of the sort.
Who ever permitted or allowed Jared to do this should have their head placed on a pike and paraded in front of the world to show we do not permit or condone this bullshit....
These Are High Crimes Against the State: Trading in top secret information explicitly for the purpose and intent of self enrichment.
Jared and his boss Mango Mussolini should be shot before high noon the next coming day.
When will the day arrive that this crime syndicate that occupies our White House and commandeered our government with goons, idiots, and buffoons - is brought to justice and pays for their crimes ?

Of course the real question is: What will it take to bring a traitor weasel acting in in broad daylight down???
This whole crew needs to be outfitted for orange jumpsuits. And then, fumigate the entire White House. What a disgusting disgrace!!
