As obnoxious.
Super bright Texas student was accepted to all 15 colleges he applied to including Yale and Stanford.
So the two white women decided to hate in his intellect.

(31,261 posts)The kid was applying to some of the most selective colleges in the country, of course it made sense for him to apply to a lot of colleges.

(1,294 posts)Heres what I want to tell that bitch despite her apology. Applying for colleges is hard and time consuming work. The fact that he was enterprising enough to apply to so many and pay the admissions application fees shows the magnitude of his greatness.
The mere question of is applying to x schools too much is a fucked up question.

(58,724 posts)Helping your students build their college lists
In this climate of competitive admission, students need your help finalizing their lists of colleges they plan to apply to. How many colleges should a student's list contain? And how should a student decide which colleges to include?
There is no magic number, but five to eight applications are usually enough to ensure that a student is accepted into a suitable institution (depending, of course, on the individual student's record and circumstances). This number should be made up of a combination of safety, probable and reach colleges.

(1,294 posts)Choices is not a standard question. Especially given our nation ns history of specific and institutional discrimination against black students.

(58,724 posts)I think the whole way they approached the story was awful, and I am glad that one of the anchors apologized and said she learned something from the experience.
I am just saying that asking how many schools is too many in terms of college applications is a standard question and consideration for college bound students and their parents.

(15,936 posts)I find it petty that you would attack someone who worked hard to earn the right to apply to as many colleges as he wanted. No one knows how many colleges would have accepted him.
Once again we have the project what you are at play and they are the most petty and obnoxious among us.

Usually it's an idiot bicycle thief or gangster, but high achievers are even scarier because a kid like that can grow up to be a world leader in whichever field they choose to pursue.

Why does nobody ever go after legacy admissions? Those are the ones keeping more deserving students from admission to top schools, not the impressive young man they were dismissing.
Subliminally, they probably have a problem with the name "Michael Brown."
Good on the young man twenty times over!
