1. It really isn't

I mean, really, who cares?

For the cable news outlets, however, it provides a welcome relief from the constant domination of the news cycles by all things Trump.

I'm really glad we got rid of cable TV several years ago.

5. The frenzy of news should not preclude the coverage of the death

Of an important person in presidential history.

Her passing matters.

11. wife of a president, mother of a president - no matter what we think of her or

hubby and son, it is news. Her death is more real than anything that comes out of trump's mouth.

12. Its going to horrible when Poppy dies.

The “liberal” media will go into overdrive. CNN will have a week of Blitzer reminiscing about all the good times they had. The fawning Bush movies will be re-run ad nauseam. The only saving grace is that Trump is sure to do something so stupid that they even have to pre-empt the funeral coverage.

14. Because in 200 plus years of US history, there have been 42 first ladies

and exactly what is happening at this very moment (or even happened today as opposed to yesterday) that hasn't been previously reported on?

Geez...Harry Anderson's death got play on the news yesterday. Did you complain about that, too?

17. Because she's a former First Lady and a highly regarded

person. Geez.....show a little dignity to a nation. You must have missed all the other reporting going on. They kinda have to like right after it happens. Are you going to complain when they remember Bush Sr. or Jr., Carter or Clinton? We tend to give honor to people of significance when they pass. Is this your first in this great nation?

Imaginable were the Bushes.

I read President Obama's beautiful words. Anything from Cheeto yet?

21. Presidents' families

are the closest thing we have to royalty in this country, and a lot of people "follow" their lives. It's news, but it's not emphasized as that important, unless it's a slow news day.

My mom has the exact same problems
So ill cut the Bushs a break on this one.
After 73 years I expect the ex president to not
Be far behind.

27. Seriously?

She was first lady. She was 92 and married for 73 years. She also did a lot for children's literacy. I don't see anything wrong with paying respects.

of a President and a Governor. I agree, and find it sad things are getting so partisan we can't pay our respects.

39. I know right

I just had to say something. It's tasteless and disrespectful. Her husband and sons aren't my favorite people but damn people, show some respect. I can't imagine the loss of a partner after 73 years. That's devastating.

29. Because she's one of fewer than 50 First Ladies and was loved and respected by millions of Americans

I hope that when Rosalynn's and Hillary's and Michelle's times come, they're accorded similar respect and tribute.
