Santorum tells Iowans: ‘I don’t want to make black people’s lives better’

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/01/02/santorum-tells-iowans-i-dont-want-to-make-black-peoples-lives-better/

Speaking to Republicans in Iowa on Monday, former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) said his administration would reform welfare to the point that it would offer no welfare at all.

After suggesting that an expansion of Medicare is really just a plot to make voters more “dependent” on Washington, Santorum added: ”I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them other people’s money.”

“I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn their money and provide for themselves and their families,” he added. “The best way to do that is to get the manufacturing sector of the economy rolling.”

and the crowd cheers.

and the center of union power in America. They were jobs that a high school graduate could raise a family on.

Not everyone can or should go to college - there will never be enough jobs. We need those manufacturing jobs back.

1% er's don't want to work that hard nor do they want to pay what it takes for others to run that biz for them. Frankly they make better returns on their money thru financial markets. The Congress they have bought and paid for will make sure they can continue to lie, cheat and steal in that domain too.

Manufacturing jobs in the US are done, kaput. We can offer tax breaks forever and the 1% still won't do it. What they will do is talk about lazy Americans who don't want to work in manufacturing even as they now talk about Americans not wanting to work in farm fields.

Anything they say is all a con.

These people seem to be very comfortable listening to or encouraging this kind of racist speak, otherwise he wouldn't feel so at ease to pandering to them.

Btw, Rick, I've been working since I was 12, and Im 68 now with not one welfare application in my resume. And that goes for my entire family. So fuck you and your buddies out in Iowa.

He's a racist and an idiot. I guess his audience agrees with him, or they wouldn't let statements like that go unchallenged.

With this, along with his recent comments asking in wonder "how can a black man make these kinds of decisions", referring to personhood/pro-life issues, he is hard charging for the KKK and old, white and racist vote!

This is how they use coded language all the time to seek for vote and insult people of color especially blacks. I have no tolerance for this a**hole and the rethuglican KKK loving buffoons of which he is one - IMHO!
