The racist Tea Party nutjobs in Chester County, PA get TOLD in this letter to the editor.

http://www.dailylocal.com/article/20120731/OPINION02/120739970/a-bit-of-history-on-racism-in-america

I've been away, so I'm assuming this is in response to a letter from one of the people addressed in the opening paragraph. Or letters. The Tea Party nutjobs overwhelmingly fill the letters page of the local rag.

ON EDIT, some excerpts:

2. President Abraham Lincoln freed the “slaves” as a political and strategic move to undermine the Confederacy and save the Union. It was not done out of love by President Lincoln or the Republican Party for the enslaved Africans. In his famous debate with Stephen Douglas, candidate Lincoln stated emphatically that he was not an abolitionist.

3. Southern Democrats, also known as “Dixiecrats” later left the Democratic Party and became a central part of the Republican Party.

5. We agree that some fair-minded Republicans voted their conscience and sided with the Democrats in their support of the Civil Rights Act. But that was before a black man was elected President of the United States. Now the Republican Party is in lockstep against President Obama even when he presents a bill or idea that was originated by Republicans. Sound like racism?

6. Putting a person with a black face up front does not insulate the organization in the rear. This is an old tactic from yesterday that does not work today. We are not fooled by your presentation of a “house Negro” in your window who is required to spout the same vitriolic rhetoric as the rest of your organization. Be they Herman Cain, Clarence Thomas or others, such individuals do not represent nor are they respected by the majority of the members of our community.

to support the Teabaggers. The editorial page is nothing but right wing crapola & I got into several very heated exchanges on the phone about the right wing propaganda that is disguised as news.

I have also spoken with local democrats (in office) & they said very plainly that this paper is nothing but a mouth piece for the right wing.

They love Joe Pitts, a member of the freaky xtian cult, & and to find a bigger liar you would need KKKarl Rove or A Kock (koch) brother.

BTW I used the Opera browser, & have spyware blaster & spybot search & destry, NOT ONE POPUP!
Firefox w/ noscript also is very hard to plant bots on.

Our response to Tea Party members Anthony Oleck and Brandon Boyd and others who have issue with our commentary ... here is a bit of history for you.

1. The original title of our article was “Racism is alive and well in America.” The title “Race relations have not improved” was not our statement. It was chosen by the DLN editors. However, we do believe that race relations have improved ... especially among our young people.
4. The KKK and white citizen council members were local individuals and officials who assaulted, terrorized and murdered many African-Americans throughout the South. We made no reference to their having been members of the Republican Party. Their political party affiliation is meaningless....................

Ever notice how when the Reds try to paint the Democrats as the "Party of Racism" and cluck about how they're such friends to the black man they have to cherry pick stuff from 50+ years ago?
