I saw something scary a couple days ago on my commute to work.
There was a giant RAM powerstroke truck. One of the big ones with the extended cab.
On the back window were some very troubling decals.
First there was a little decal that said 'Merica. I'm not kidding.
Then, there was an American flag made from bullets laid horizontally, with the stars made from bullet holes.
Finally, the piece de resistance...you know those decals of families? Where you have a little Dad, a little Mom, and several kids, all standing side by side decorating the rear window of a car? Well, this guy had the same decal except they were assault weapons. No kidding. I don't know the shapes of guns enough to identify them, but Dad seemed to be one of those assault weapons that has recently been used in mass shootings.
There were a whole bunch, too. All standing up in a nice little line - maybe 10 white-silhouetted guns on the decal.
So, I basically slowed down and let him get ahead.

(2,280 posts)Pretty sure you aren't supposed to display the flag with holes in it (and I assume that applies to flag stickers).
Just yesterday, I saw one of these large trucks (alas, no stickers) cut over two lanes to make an exit, cutting off two very much larger trucks in order to do it. I wished I was a cop at that point...

(2,120 posts)RAM is a former Dodge/Chrysler brand. Powerstroke is a Ford engine brand name. WTF is a RAM Powerstroke truck?
Shall we believe the rest of the story?
A HERETIC I AM
(24,320 posts)Or the company that used to be called International Harvester and those engines are built by them for the Ford Motor Company.
The diesels used in the larger Dodge pickups are made by Cummins
I think the OP misread what was on the truck, because unless it was a conversion, Powerstroke doesnt appear on Chrysler products

(2,120 posts)And I am aware of the old IH/Navistar history. But for most people, when they see "Powerstroke" on a truck, the word "Ford" will be very close by.
(BTW, I'm an old Dodge/Cummins guy.)
A HERETIC I AM
(24,320 posts)And the old joke is the when driving through Kansas, one has to hold the steering wheel with both hands because the truck has this overwhelming desire to make a hard right and go plow a field!

(14,516 posts)No, not having ever driven one, I did not know powerstroke was a Ford Brand.
Believe what you want. I don't care.

(16,133 posts)in Central Florida. A derringer, a semi automatic pistol, a rifle and then an AR 15 with the phrase "My family" in decal below.
It was a mazda miata, I remember the tag number but am not posting it. All I could think was, "How very sad that killing machines would be your family".
WTH is wrong with these people?

Very common way for vets to display ones close to them lost in battle. By close to them I simply mean under their command or in their unit. There is normally a helmet on top and a boot at the base. Not always. Very few actually have eight children.
They might need some serious help. They do need serious help.

(479 posts)With lots of conversations of whether the 7.2 is better than the 6.0 engine. Nobody seems to note that they drove a 3 ton fuel guzzling macho four wheel drive vehicle on the freeway to commute to work. Now don't get me wrong I believe you can drive any vehicle you want... What this is is a culture symbol. It also is over compensating. It also is Bravado and Macho. I will even go out on a limb and say its a high probability that "that guy" is endorsing Trump. No survey taken just my observation.
