Oklahoma lawmakers vote to stop same-sex couples from adoptingOklahoma lawmakers have voted in favour of a bill which enable adoption and foster agencies to reject same-sex couples because of their religious beliefs.
The Oklahoma House of Representatives approved Senate Bill 1140 on April 26, after the bill had been passed by the state Senate on March 13. --------------- n 2016, a federal judge ruled that Mississippi’s ban on same-sex couples adopting children was unconstitutional – making same-sex adoption legal in all 50 states. But many states have tried to find ways around this ruling, mostly through the idea that there should be a religious exception for people and agencies who believe LGB people should not be parents because of their faith. 2. What is the No. 1 criteria for the OK legislature to consider a law?
It must be first and foremost unconstitutional. They love to pass unconstitutional laws which the State AG's office will then defend in court when the inevitable law suit it filed.

4. These guys know that these laws are unconstitutional, but they are ...
passing them anyways. Sometimes it takes years to rule unconstitutional.
Perhaps federal judges need to start censuring states that do this sort of thing repeatedly, and fine them pretty big amounts of $ to stop this from continuing. |

6. They pass these laws
to "out Christian" each other. They know they will be stuck down. They also know their constituents will vote for them because they keep trying.

7. Christian privilege at work.
Beyond the disgusting nature of this act, is that in our broke-ass state, which can't pay teachers a living wage, we will now have to spend tax dollars on court battles just because they want to be bigoted shitstains!

dare they deny children PARENTS ....but we can't say we're surprised...it is OK after all and it has a "reputation" for a reason.
