Michelle Wolf Said What Has Long Been Called For - Brava!

A small pinprick of truth to the balloon of sanctimony that surrounds too many in the Washington press corps was needed. Afterall, they are largely responsible for giving us Trump.

1. I disagree. C-span has a broadcasting license. C-span has obligations pursuant to that license.

Her level of vulgarity is meant for comedy clubs and not live television. I reject the notion that, because she attacked Don the Con and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, all of her other vulgarity should be ignored. I also wonder, if Democrats are so certain that she was not over the line, then why do they find it necessary to perpetuate this story with what seems like 40 - 50 threads defending her ?

3. Perhaps, Trust, Wolf aroused a passion in true liberals that has been numbed by the steady stream

of filth, lies, and chicanery that has been issuing from the WH since Trump took his oath of office and proceeded to break that oath multiple times every day. When I read right wing screeds, and worse, liberal hand-wringing like yours, I can't shut up. We have to respond. Thus 50 or 100 threads in thanks that Michelle Wolf drew back the curtain for a minute and reminded us who we are. Granted, her comedy is not for weak-kneed, the faint of heart, or the sanctimonious David Brooks of this world.

4. You'll of course support that particular premise with evidence, yes?

"Her level of vulgarity is meant for comedy clubs and not live television..."
You'll of course support that particular premise with objective evidence, yes?

"all of her other vulgarity should be ignored..."
Seems you're the only one both creating that point, and using your creation, arguing against it.

"perpetuate this story with what seems like 40 - 50 threads defending her ?..."
How many times would be appropriate, and on what measure is that number arrived at?

Your collective sentiment that comedy has to be reduced to the lowest common and most civil denominator is a refection of why we need comedy.

6. Beat me to it. One OTA FM station is licensed.

A search of the FCC records shows a C-Span FM station in the DC area licensed on 90.1. I'm sure they are careful what goes out on that.

Yep.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WCSP-FM

C-SPAN Radio broadcasts public-affairs programming, including some audio simulcasts of C-SPAN's flagship television programs like Washington Journal and some radio-only programming such as the famous tape-recorded Oval Office conversations from the Johnson and Nixon administrations, oral histories, and some committee meetings and press conferences not shown on television due to programming commitments. The radio station does not try to duplicate C-SPAN television coverage, and takes a more selective approach to its broadcast content

Emphasis mine.

our total lack of courage. She spoke truth to power in a manner that could be called vulgar, but only by someone who has become totally numb to the vile filth that pours of Trump and Sanders' mouths. The press is still pretty much pretending that Trump is a normal president who has not broken every norm, every rule of etiquette, every unwritten law regarding the role of the president as a leader and a role model for the nation. Extraordinarily dangerous and disgusting behavior calls for extraordinary comedic measures. Thank you Michelle Wolf for forcefully reminding us where we are, and how the president, the Republican Party, and the media have failed us. Her speech was a koan designed to wake us from our deep slumber and see things as they really are.
