Giuliani: "Everybody's reacting to us now, and I feel good about that"

After days of media appearances intended to explain President Trump’s role in a legal settlement with an adult-film star that only raised fresh questions about the payment, his new attorney Rudolph W. Giuliani on Sunday said Trump still has confidence in him and believes the media blitz “all worked out.”

“I’ll give you the conclusion: We all feel pretty good that we’ve got everything kind of straightened out and we’re setting the agenda,” Giuliani, the former New York mayor who recently joined Trump’s legal team, said in an interview with The Washington Post. Giuliani said he met with the president at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va., to discuss developments and legal strategy.

“Everybody’s reacting to us now, and I feel good about that because that’s what I came in to do,” he said.

“We’ve made a deal this weekend: He stays focused on North Korea, Iran and China, and we stay focused on the case and we’ll bother him when we have to,” Giuliani said of his meeting with Trump.

In show business any publicity is good publicity; but in criminal investigations - not so much.

and prefers to view all public transactions as political in nature. He is ignoring the Rule of Law, so naturally, he's only looking at the political side of controlling the narrative.

when the coverage is all Trump, and all the footage is Trump, he can get away with damn near anything
but Rudy looks like the living dead, sounds like a 2-bit ignorant shill, and he's getting a lot of replay for spilling some fairly incriminating beans

unless they can evolve some kind of effective tag-team thing, Rudy's only going to drag Trump down
when Trump sucks all the air out of the room, the media collectively slips gently into worshipful orange oblivion -- sometimes with a token protest, but usually not
when Rudy tries to suck all the air out of the room, the media collectively screams "vampire!" and reaches for the garlic and holy water

possible goal: have Rudy admit to various crimes, but do so in such an obnoxious, repulsive manner that no one wants to hear about it anymore. problem is, right now, he's just opening things up for guys like Avenatti to come on the same shows and eat his lunch, and apparently people are interested in what Avenatti has to say, no matter how stupid Rudy tries to make it.

“Everybody’s reacting to us now" -- yes, we're recoiling in horror and disgust. is that what you came to do? well then mission accomplished, i guess.
