to try and show up to the funeral anyway. Someone like him could well view it as a method of thumbing his nose at McCain's slight and the honor bestowed on Obama.

Trump would likely know the McCains along with all the other attendees would reflect the root of the descriptive "dignitaries" and not cause a scene about the sitting POTUS' presence. To a prick like Trump, that's a weakness to be exploited.

Besides, even if the worst occurred and Trump were quietly rebuked, turned away or ushered out, his base wouldn't care. They would point to it as proof the Beltway establishment are afraid of the "swamp drainer."

Then again, that kind of face-to-face confrontation might necessitate too much spine for Trump's ilk. He might be more suited to staying far away, to cowardly potshots aimed at McCain and those consoling the bereaved while safe behind his podium, listening to his craven sycophants roar their approval.
