“We have only scratched the surface in this case,” Avenatti said. “Not only do I think that, I know that. There is going to be a significant amount of evidence that’s going to come to light, and when that evidence is presented, and when the American people learn of it, they are going to be disgusted by the conduct of Mr Trump and Mr Cohen, and that serious consequences will result.”

However my faith is in Avenatti at this point..

From a source with more knowledge than the general public...

That people will be disgusted with trump once the details emerge. I really really wonder what kinds of things actually happened to get more than one person to conclude the same thing.

I can imagine the speech he will give. Something like... "You people dont deserve me. My brilliance has been wasted in this pathetic job. I will be fine but the country is screwed... bigly."

It will be a ugly but also a huge sigh of relief across the planet.

First of all his cult/fan base has seen and heard all the stuff before and DO NOT care...Even the religious ones are hypocrites and forgive/excuse him for everything he has ever done BEFORE becoming the fake prez. He will never be shamed since he has no shame. For 71 years he has never been shamed and never has acknowledged let alone apologize for any of his actions and mistakes. Remember Birtherism?

The only way he can get nailed is through fool proof documentation of money laundering. Then the question is will he be indicted? Then the question is would he resign (he may get impeached by the House if the Dems win in Nov but the GOP Senate won't convict him). His ego will not allow him to resign. I think he needs to have a stroke or heart attack as the only way we get rid of him while still in office.

“Ultimately, he is going to be forced to resign,” said Michael Avenatti, the attorney for the adult film actor who says she had an affair with Donald Trump and was paid by Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, to keep it quiet.

“I don’t know how he will ultimately spin his departure, but I firmly believe there is going to be too much evidence of wrongdoing by him and those around him for him to be able to survive the balance of his term.”

Avenatti spoke to the Guardian in New York on Friday. He is convinced Trump will not be impeached but will find himself unable to stay in his job before his term ends in January 2021.

...

Personally, I'm disgusted beyond belief.

But there are Republicans who have been swallowing the toxicity, little by little, until they are immune and numb to it.

As long as the Repubs in Congress, the lobbyists, the RW Evangelicals, all of them are profiting from the boob, he'll stay.

Their useful idiot. The real tipping point will come when he is more toxic than beneficial.

I agree with everyone here - if he had any moral standards at all and with all that is going against him, he would already have done this country the favor of resigning and out of decency he would be so ashamed of himself and would go into hiding on his own without being forced to!!! He would apologise for misleading people of this country and misrepresenting himself!!! LOL

People seem to think the GOP will turn on him....they wont. Unless there is undeniable proof that he cant explain away in 140 charecters he will only be forced out by the voters. I live in hardcore GOP country and they think he is the best President this country has ever had. I've heard terms like "Glorious leader" tossed around. That doesnt get forced out easily.

19. The problem is that nobody is ever "forced to resign"
Mon May 7, 2018, 06:30 PM

"Forced to resign" works on the basis of a person being essentially shamed into resigning, or that the person will be too afraid of potential legal consequences to be willing to stay on. As for shame, Trump has none. As for fearing potential legal consequences, Trump is confident in his own ability to talk himself out of any legal trouble (which, for the most part, he has been able to do for much of his life). So where does that leave us?

That's why I think this prediction is a bit misguided. Using typical constructs, yes, the amount of damning evidence would be enough to bring down ANYBODY BUT TRUMP.

He's played his hand with his base deftly, he has Congressional and media support.

I'm not holding my breath that he'll go down like other mortal men. Never before has an arch-criminal been granted presidential powers to wield in his own defense, but that time is upon us, and tens upon tens of millions of Americans are buying in, hook, line and sinker.
