John Cole, who runs the site, has been a loyal Democrat for more than a decade since he jumped ship from the Republicans. He took a lot of heat for it at the time from RWers, and shrugged it off. The major tipping point for him was the Terri Schiavo case, but he'd been growing increasingly disgusted with the GOP and the Bush II regime for quite a while before that.

Balloon Juice raises enormous amounts of money for Democratic PACs and candidates every election season. It has a wide range of writers, and has carried in-depth expert coverage of ACA issues etc. over the years. And as this breaking news shows, it's generally a reliable source.

What are the chances this is a coordinated attack from Trumpists attempting to bring Schneiderman down to disrupt the NY State investigations/prosecutions of Trump et al?
Just like with Senator Franken, whose accusers disappeared as soon as he resigned and no lawsuits/charges/investigations were ever made?
AG Schneiderman needs to hang tough as do the NY Democratic Party people and The DNC and Nation Democratic Party people.
We know how this goes. Hang tough. Demand a full and open investigation. FOLLOW THE MONEY!!! And don't back down!

On Edit: Oh shit! I posted this fresh off of troll-tripping on DISQUS. Had not read the article. OOPS.....
Waiting to read more on this. Hopefully his deputies are solid people of Integrity and commitment.

His holding state charges for a litany of crimes in NY by the drumpf cabal is what was keeping the power of the pardon in check so Mueller could do his work at the Federal level. All I can say is I hope whoever replaces him is well versed in everything going on and is ready for a fight with the president.......... because if we get some weakling in there drumpf is going to try and trample that person. “It’s been my great honor and privilege to serve as Attorney General for the people of the State of New York. In the last several hours, serious allegations, which I strongly contest, have been made against me. While these allegations are unrelated to my professional conduct or the operations of the office, they will effectively prevent me from leading the office’s work at this critical time. I therefore resign my office, effective at the close of business on May 8, 2018.”

Seriously? Any potential successors that are female? Is this what it's come to?

Listening to the details, there seems to be photographic proof/evidence. And apparently one of the women he allegedly assaulted is a prominent NY attorney.

This is like bizarro world. Why wouldn't a prominent attorney press charges?

I'm reserving judgment, but this looks like Conyers territory, more than Franken.
