Gavin McInnes: 'Wearing A MAGA Hat Is Like Being Openly Gay In 1950'

“Here in New York City, wearing a MAGA hat is like being openly gay in 1950, and I’m not exaggerating,” McInnes said on Tuesday’s episode of his CRTV program. “You will get your ass beat, you will not last at a bar in Harlem—we try it all the time and get booted out. There’s many bars that say, ‘You cannot openly be here.’ If you go into a bar wearing a MAGA hat, people start getting uncomfortable. The bartender will ask you to leave politely and people will yell at you on the street and spit on you.”

“You’re treating us like pedophiles,” he added.

"my choice to hate in 2018 carries the stigma of a choice to love in the 1950s outside of the dominant societal norms of the time..." WTF???!!!

Yeah, 'cause hate and love are just the same thing, right? And victimizing others and being a victim are just the same thing, right?

These Trump people suffer from serious cognitive dissonance...

Wearing a MAGA just proves you are demonstrably an idiot. No one will kill you for being an idiot openly. No one will jail you for being obviously an idiot. Once again, Trump supporters are not, in fact, suffering any kind of discrimination at all. You just can stand that we hate you and think you are idiots.

There is one guy I saw while walking my dog around 78th st and 3rd ave two weeks ago with a shirt in huge writing “Re-elect Trump 2020”. He was an older guy 60+ And dressed in ratty crap clothes- most likely not rich. Could easily pass as a super in one of the walk up buildings.

Then I saw him in Central Park by the boat pond around 75th st just inside the park by 5th ave. Now his shirt said, “I Love Trump Now More Than Ever” in huge writing.

All I could do is stare at him with hate in my heart as I walked quickly past him on the way to my office at the corner of Central Park.

He graduated high school in 1952. My dad used to tell me storied about him. His life was rough. He turned to alcohol and drugs and also had mental issues. As I got older and figured out who I was I also turned to alcohol (I grew up in the 1980's). I have had some bad experiences from being gay but I literally can't imagine what he went through. It infuriates me for some Trump supporting idiot to even begin to compare his experience to that of my uncle.
