Weve listened to this guy for many, many years in this country on his moral high horse,. Assaulting the dignity of gay people, across the board. His moral preening is famous throughout the land.He is the most obsequious of all of Trumps cultists in the cabinet, We have never seen such slobbering servility by a high government official in this country than we do with Mike Pence and Donald Trump. It is amazing.

(7,807 posts)Pence walks in carrying a CD player. He turns it on and it plays You Are So Beautiful to Me over and over as Pence approaches on his knees with his eyes down and his hands folded. He has a tear of rapturous joy in his eye.

(56,828 posts)from The Book of Mormon, only instead of the original "having really strange feelings for Steve", it's Pence singing, "having really strange feelings for Trump"
here is the song with lyrics:

(81,085 posts)Now THAT, for all you deplorables out there, is tellin it like it is. What YOU think is tellin it like it is - is actually an open confession to how shitty and racist the prevailing opinion on that side is. It says a mouthful about who too many of our fellow Americans actually think and feel. Their dirty little secret, of which theyre secretly so proud - now that trump has given them free license to speak and agree with this shot and embrace their inner shithead. He let them out of the closet and the attic and told them it was okay to feel and think like that. I think thats why theyre so enthralled by him and stand by him so proudly and unapologetically.
They should be apologizing for those Neanderthal opinions. Instead, trump has validated them and urged them farther into along. It should be shameful and disgraceful to profess such things. Such behavior should be discouraged. Such behavior and attitudes should NOT be encouraged, rewarded, or reinforced. But trump IS doing all those things. And theyre lapping it up like a cat with a bowl of cream.
Would you raise your kids that way???

(5,106 posts)I grew up in a VERY Republican town, where my mom was one of the few active Democrats. My dad was a closet Democrat in the general election voting booth and pretty quiet politically, and registered Republican because he really thought it was necessary due to his job. Mom greeted and was on the platform locally with JFK when he barnstormed in 1960. I was in charge of recruiting "Kennedy Girls" in the junior high; no problem, because everyone wanted the hat and sash, including the senior high girls. Of course their parents were mostly voting for Nixon. I remember my mom was very irritated because the local bigwigs, all rushed Kennedy in front of the less prestigious locals that she knew were Democrats. Steve Schmidt is one of the rare "good Republicans" these days. John McCain may have been among the last decent candidates ( and maybe Romney: both seem decent) in his party to run for the highest office. Are there still non "deplorable" Republicans who aren't crawling on the bottom of the "swamp" to support the "drain the swamp" Trump?
