Re: Threats of violence from the right in places like Calvert County, Maryland
Where this sign popped up on the side of a highway:
They're not doing this because they feel emboldened.
They're doing it because they feel scared.
They're doing it because they worry their days are numbered.
They know the storm that is coming for their Dear Leader and they know that no where is safe.
They saw that in Alabama, and in Western Pennsylvania, and they see it coming to wherever they think their little safe space is.
Calvert County might be in a red area, but it's in a blue state.
And there are some strong, quality candidates on the local and state levels that are coming to the forefront in seemingly red strongholds nationwide.
The Maryland state legislative delegate for Calvert County is a Republican, as are all the County Commissioners.
But you only have to go back seven years to when that Calvert County delegate seat was held by a Democrat. And right now, you have a young, exciting candidate for that delegate seat. His name is Jason Fowler--he's a graduate of Georgetown Law, endorsed by multiple unions and teachers groups, has a strong platform on the environment, and importantly has strong ties to the local community.

If you know somebody in that community, I'd encourage them to consider supporting Fowler for State Delegate.
And if you don't know anyone in that community but live in a community too easily written off as a safe red district, I'm sure there's a Jason Fowler of your own to support.
