What’s the best way to deal with pervasive, persistent and blood-pressure rising racism on the daily, as well as give a big fat fuck you to gentrification and the criminalization of black folks? Why throw a cookout, of course!

In a pointed response to a recent incident where a white woman thought it her civic duty to call the police on a few black couples using a grill in a public park, the melanated masses of Oakland threw their own party at that very same site, Lake Merritt Park.

It's not that the area was BBQ prohibited, its that that area was charcoal BBQ prohibited because some stuffed shirt in the City legal dept felt it would be a good idea to have signs so in case of the extremely rare event somebody would lose control of a charcoal BBQ/or vise versa, a propane tank next to a charcoal BBQ-and it would get too close and manage to explode a propane BBQ. if nobody was in proximity with a propane BBQ there was zero danger, instead of the tiny bit of danger had one been present. It's like the warning on a hot cup of coffee, or "swim at your own risk".
Having attended hundreds of parties in my lifetime including tailgaters where every kind of grill was used within yards of each other or even closer,, I agree this was a case of Fat Becky trying to harass people. Can you imagine living or working with this woman, or even in the same building? People like these are a good reason to own a shredder and keep your curtains closed. Fat Becky is the kind to measure your grass and call the Homeowners Association when it's 1/8 too tall. Becky would crash a kids party demand to see the performing clown's license. Fat Becky charges tax at her yard sale.
